Our Story
We were established to make independent living support more local, more practical, and more responsive to the real barriers people face every day.
Sligo Centre For Independent Living Limited works alongside disabled people and families to strengthen choice, everyday confidence, and meaningful participation in community life. Our combined approach joins advocacy, support planning, training, and lived experience in one local service.
The centre combines day-to-day practical help with wider advocacy so people can direct their own lives, access the right services, and stay connected to their communities across Sligo.
We were established to make independent living support more local, more practical, and more responsive to the real barriers people face every day.
We help disabled people strengthen choice, dignity, and control through advocacy, skills support, information, and coordinated planning.
Every service is grounded in collaboration, lived experience, and practical next steps that make homes, travel, and community participation easier to manage.
Our staff work with individuals to understand goals, identify barriers, and map out realistic support around housing, mobility, advocacy, routines, and access to local opportunities.
That work is strengthened by team members who bring different skills across case coordination, rights-based advocacy, outreach, training, and peer support.
Each team member brings a distinct perspective, helping the organisation respond with practical advice, local knowledge, and consistent person-centred support.
